Our restaurant, 'Salt Mango Tree' (SMT) was launched in June 2014 as a casual dining speciality cuisine (Kerala) restaurant.

SMT is a Times Food Award winner (2020, 2021 2022 and 2023) for Kerala Cuisine, and awarded one of the best places by “The Week” Magazine and recommended in 27 Best places in Bangalore by GQ magazine in 2018.

We call ourselves 'Salt Mango Tree' named after the comic transliteration by actor Mohanlal in the 1986's Malayalam film Dhoore Dhoore Oru Koodu Koottam!

Our brand 'Salt Mango Tree' represents the focus and quality of service by our family that attempts to bring back Kerala dishes which are now slowly disappearing from the Kerala food palette.

We make sure our ingredients are sourced from the finest in Kerala to be in touch with the roots of our cuisine - spices dried and ground to perfection in the mills locally for use in our kitchens; Kaima rice (aged short grain rice) or Ghee (clarified butter) used in our Thalassery Dum Chicken Biryani, everything is sourced from the best in Kerala.

We are known for our eagerly awaited food festivals as we have organized Thattukada - Kerala Street Food Festival, Onam, Vishu & Seafood Festivals.

Our hygiene and health care process is now even more stringent and in line with the times. Our entire staff is vaccinated now!
